There might be no better time than the present to be a fan of Marvel's X-Men. Though the comic book side of things hasn't been great for the last few years, live action is the place to find mutants thriving nowadays. Both Logan—a smash hit this past winter—and the first season of FX's Legion have brought some much needed edge to mutant universe, and now Fox is producing The Gifted, a new network series from Bryan Singer, the man who first brought the X-Men to the big screen.
From what we can see in this new trailer—an expansion of the one that debuted last week—the series is looking to take the X-Men and put them in a realistic setting in where humans are working to eradicate mutants. It's an interesting concept and one that could likely sustain several seasons worth of entertaining television, so fingers crossed that Fox gives the show the time it needs to establish this world and then build on it.
